Shopping for a bag? These clear easyJet

Already have a bag — check it against easyJet. Buying a new one? Each below is measured against easyJet's published limit; only bags we can verify appear.

What is worth knowing about easyJet

easyJet's free bag is the small one: 45 x 36 x 20 cm under the seat, and up to 15 kg, which is a heavier allowance than most European carriers grant a bag that size. The large 56 x 45 x 25 cm cabin bag is a purchase and brings Speedy Boarding with it. In the hold easyJet measures a total rather than a longest side — length plus width plus height under 275 cm — and sells weight in tiers from 15 kg to 32 kg, with 23 kg as the standard one.

Two limits easyJet does not set

The sizes above are the ones easyJet publishes. These are not, and they do not change when you switch carriers: liquids in the cabin — at most UK airports nothing over 100 ml per container clears security, in one transparent resealable bag of about 20 × 20 cm (GOV.UK — Hand luggage restrictions: liquids); and power banks and spare lithium batteries, which ride in the cabin and never in the hold. Where easyJet sets its own count limit, its baggage page above is the place it is written.

Common questions

What size carry-on does easyJet allow?

22 × 17.7 × 9.8 in (56 × 45 × 25 cm*), including wheels and handles. Checked against the official page on 2026-07-02.

Does easyJet charge for a carry-on?

Yes. A full-size carry-on is a paid add-on on base fares, and it is usually cheaper at booking than at the gate. The free allowance is the personal item.

What size personal item does easyJet allow?

17.7 × 14.2 × 7.9 in (45 × 36 × 20 cm*) — it must fit under the seat in front of you.

Is there a carry-on weight limit on easyJet?

Yes — 15 kg for the cabin bag, and 15 kg for the personal item. Weigh your packed bag; a luggage scale pays for itself here.
