Depends on the form. Beans and ground coffee — yes, with no liquids limit. Brewed coffee counts as a liquid: 3.4 oz (100 ml) or less through the checkpoint, so finish the cup before screening and buy another airside.
Checked bag yes
Allowed in checked bags — beans, ground and liquid alike.
Officers may ask you to take coffee and other powders out of your bag so the X-ray image stays clear (tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/items/coffee-beans-or-ground). An empty travel thermos goes through fine — fill it after security.
Liquids, gels and aerosols in carry-on follow the TSA 3-1-1 rule. The final decision always rests with the TSA officer at the checkpoint.
