Can you bring makeup on a plane?
TSA's official answer, checked against tsa.gov on 2026-07-02.
Carry-on bag limits apply
Liquid/cream/gel makeup (foundation, mascara, lip gloss) follows 3-1-1 — 3.4 oz or less each, in the quart bag. Solid and powder makeup — no size limit, but powders over 12 oz go in a separate bin for X-ray.
Checked bag yes
All formats allowed; TSA encourages packing large non-essential powders in checked bags.
Liquids, gels and aerosols in carry-on follow the TSA 3-1-1 rule. The final decision always rests with the TSA officer at the checkpoint.
