Can you bring snow globes on a plane?
TSA's official answer, checked against tsa.gov on 2026-09-05.
Carry-on bag limits apply
Only a small one. The globe must appear to hold less than 3.4 oz (100 ml) of liquid — TSA's own comparison is roughly tennis-ball size — and the whole thing, base included, has to fit inside your single quart-sized resealable bag.
Checked bag yes
Allowed. TSA says larger snow globes must be packed in checked baggage — pad it well, it is glass and liquid.
The test is the liquid inside, but the base counts too: if the globe and its base together won't fit the quart bag, it can't go in the cabin.
Liquids, gels and aerosols in carry-on follow the TSA 3-1-1 rule. The final decision always rests with the TSA officer at the checkpoint.
