Corded electric irons — carry-on or checked, no restriction. Cordless (lithium battery or butane) — carry-on ONLY, with a safety cover over the heating element and protection against switching on.
Checked bag limits apply
Corded — fine. Cordless battery/butane models — prohibited in checked bags. Gas refill cartridges are prohibited everywhere.
Liquids, gels and aerosols in carry-on follow the TSA 3-1-1 rule. The final decision always rests with the TSA officer at the checkpoint.
