Can you bring sunscreen on a plane?
TSA's official answer, checked against tsa.gov on 2026-07-02.
Carry-on bag limits apply
3.4 oz (100 ml) or less — spray and lotion both count as liquids/aerosols. Full-size bottles won't pass.
Checked bag limits apply
Larger sizes go here, within FAA toiletry limits (500 ml per container, 2 L total). TSA's own advice — check the big bottle for the beach.
Liquids, gels and aerosols in carry-on follow the TSA 3-1-1 rule. The final decision always rests with the TSA officer at the checkpoint.
